A conversation with Marco Calvani following a screening of the final episode from Season 2 of THE FOUR SEASONS–the Netflix hit show featuring his breakout performance as Claude. MARCO CALVANI is an Italian born award-winning writer, actor and filmmaker based in the U.S. Marco wrote, directed and produced his first feature film HIGH TIDE which was filmed in Provincetown and premiered at SXSW to wide critical acclaim. The film stars Brazilian star Marco Pigossi, Oscar-winner Marisa Tomei and Tony-winner Bill Irwin. The film screened at PIFF 2024. His first short film The View from Up Here stars Oscar-winner Melissa Leo and César-winner Leïla Bekhti. His second short film A Better Half had its world premiere at PIFF in 2022.
Over the course of his twenty-year career as a theatermaker, he received commissions from the Phoenix Theatre of London, Kunsthaus Tacheles of Berlin, Théâtre de la Ville of Paris, Grec Fundació of Barcelone and La MaMa Theatre of New York, among others. Marco made his U.S. acting debut in Tina Fey’s The Four Seasons (Netflix) playing opposite Oscar-nominees Steve Carell and Colman Domingo, and for which he received the Breakthrough Actor Award at SeriesFest 2025. He has a co-starring role in Kat Coiro’s YOU, ME AND TUSCANY (Universal Pictures) with Halle Bailey and Regé Jean-Page. Upcoming projects include his sophomore feature film CAPITANA, a biopic he co-wrote with V (formerly Eve Ensler) inspired by the life and activism of German sea captain Pia Klemp.
