General Ticketing Information

When and where can I get tickets to year-round screenings at Waters Edge Cinema?

Tickets to year-round Waters Edge Cinema programming, including the Film Art Series, Women’s Week, and other special screenings can be purchased on the cinema webpage at any time. Advance or same-day tickets can be purchased online until one hour before a screening/event, subject to availability. Less than one hour before show time, tickets are available in person at Waters Edge Cinema.

Where is Waters Edge Cinema? When is it open?

Waters Edge Cinema is located inside Whaler’s Wharf, 237 Commercial Street. Just look for the rainbow-colored stairs! If you need assistance an elevator is available, select floor 3 to be taken to the Cinema hallway. Waters Edge Cinema typically opens 1 hour before the first screening of the day.

When and where can I get PIFF tickets?

Tickets and ticket packages are on sale online, at the Festival Box Office, and at Waters Edge Cinema, starting mid-May. Click here for info. Advance or same-day tickets can be purchased online until one hour before a screening/event, subject to availability.

Can I get day-of show tickets at the Festival Box Office?

Yes! On the day of the screening, tickets are available for purchase online or at the Festival Box Office until one hour before the scheduled screening/event start time, subject to availability. If advance tickets are no longer available, RUSH tickets may be available for purchase at the screening/event venue.

Can I get tickets for other days/theaters at any venue?

No, only RUSH tickets may be available for purchase for a particular screening at the correct venue close to the screening time.

What are RUSH tickets?

RUSH tickets are space-available tickets for screenings with no advance tickets remaining. They are sold based on the number of seats open after passholders and advance ticket holders have been seated. Those wanting to purchase RUSH tickets on a first-come, first-serve basis must be present in line at the screening venue when the tickets are released, typically 5 minutes prior to show time.

What is the Townie Thursday Discount?

Provincetown residents may purchase discounted tickets to any regular screening on Thursdays during the Off-Season, October through April. There is no Townie Thursday discount for Special events, Festival Screenings or Holidays. “Townie Thursday” tickets are available to be purchased in person only. Discount will be provided only after a valid ID showing a Provincetown address is presented.

What is the Student Discount?

Students with a valid Student ID may purchase discounted tickets to any screening/event. Student tickets are available to be purchased in person only. Discount will be provided only after a valid Student ID is presented.

Can I get a refund or exchange my ticket?

No. All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges are permitted.

Is seating guaranteed if you have a pass and/or ticket?

No. Passholders and ticket holders must be in line at least 15 minutes prior to showtime or seats may be released to others.

Passes

How does a pass work?

Passes available for purchase generally include access to claim tickets for specific events. Passes can be added to your device’s mobile wallet at purchase, or accessed through your email purchase confirmation. PIFF only – Physical PIFF Passes may be picked up at the Festival Box Office.

A pass grants access to claim one ticket for the screenings and events included in their pass benefits. The pass must be presented alongside the ticket. A pass is issued to an individual and cannot be transferred, and its benefits cannot be used by any other individual. We recommend claiming tickets as early as possible.

PIFF Ticket Packs

Where can I get a ticket pack?

Ticket packs are available a few weeks before the festival, online and at the Festival Box Office. See our Festival Information page for more.

How does a ticket pack work?

A ticket pack is a bundle of credits which are able to be redeemed on specific in-person screenings. Up to four tickets can be redeemed for any one screening. Ticket packs can be redeemed online, or at the Festival Box Office. Ticket packs cannot be redeemed or exchanged at the Festival venues or in Rush Lines.

How do I use my ticket pack?

After purchasing your ticket pack, return to the Interactive Schedule and make sure you’re logged in.

Make your ticket selections – on any eligible showing, click the purchase button on the film page for the screening you are interested in and select “add 1+ tickets …$0” option.

You do not need to make all of your selections at once, but we recommend making selections in advance to avoid getting shut out of sold-out screenings. If you want to make additional selections later, just reconfirm on your return visit to our website that you are logged into your profile beforehand. Ticket pack redemption is not valid or available for Opening or Closing Night screenings, or the Conversation with the Honorees event.

You can select up to 4 tickets per in-person screening.

PIFF Overview

When and where is the festival?

The 28th Annual Provincetown International Film Festival (#PIFF28) will take place in Provincetown, MA from June 10-14, 2026. Events and screenings happen at venues around town including Waters Edge Cinema, Town Hall, Fishermen Hall, Crown & Anchor, and The Art House.
Once on sale, tickets can be purchased on the festival website at any time, in person before the Festival at Waters Edge Cinema, and in person during the Festival at the Festival Box Office.

When can I get Passes and Tickets?

#PIFF28 will offer a variety of passes, ticket packages, and individual tickets to in-person screenings and events. Passes will go on sale in early 2026. Ticket packages and individual tickets will go on sale to PFS members and passholders first, then to the general public a week later.

Membership

What is a PFS Membership?

A membership with Provincetown Film Society is a great way to support the organization all year-round. PFS members receive discounts on movies at Waters Edge Cinema, PIFF passes and tickets, popcorn, and more!

What PIFF benefits does a PFS Membership include?

All membership levels receive $5 off regular-priced festival screenings. Gold and higher members receive 10% off all festival passes. Members also receive early access to ticket selection with our festival passholders.

I am a member, do I need to purchase a Festival Pass?

If you wish to take advantage of the benefits of a PIFF Pass, you must purchase that pass. A membership does not grant any additional festival benefits outside the ones outlined above or on our membership page.

Make sure you are logged in when purchasing tickets online to access your benefits.

What do I get for becoming a sponsor?

There are multiple options for individual and event sponsorships, including Award and Event name recognition, admission to events and award ceremonies attended by industry influencers, festival branding in festival trailer and program guide, and unique educational, workshop and conference opportunities with the Provincetown Film Society.

Are all of your venues wheelchair accessible?

All of our venues are ADA compliant.

What other accessibility services do you provide?

Assisted listening devices are available at Waters Edge Cinema for anyone who needs them. Check with any Cinema staff member for more information.

Where are the festival screening venues?

All of the festival’s screening venues are located within walking distance of each other in Provincetown. They are:

Is there a festival shuttle?

While PIFF does not offer a festival shuttle, our screening venues are all within a 5-10 minute walk from each other. Please see any festival representative if you need assistance getting a cab or trolley to your venue.

What is the PIFF film rating policy?

Most films shown at PIFF are not yet rated and we are unable to advise on appropriate content. Please be sure to read film descriptions carefully – viewer discretion is advised.
