2018 – MOLLY SHANNON

Molly has forged an amazing career starting with her six-season run on “Saturday Night Live,” where she created a host of indelible characters. In the years since leaving SNL she has become one of the most sought-after actors working in the business.

Last year, Molly was awarded the Independent Spirit Award for “Best Supporting Actress” for her performance in the highly acclaimed drama Other People, written and directed by Chris Kelly. She has also been nominated for an Emmy for her work on HBO’s “Enlightened.” Based on the depth and range of her work, the nominations and awards will clearly keep coming!

Molly can next be seen in PIFF’s Opening Night film WILD NIGHTS WITH EMILY, written and directed by PIFF alum Madeleine Olnek, and Tamara Jenkins’ Netflix original film Private Life, alongside Paul Giamatti and Kathryn Hahn, premiering this fall. On television, Molly can be seen in the HBO comedy “Divorce” opposite Sarah Jessica Parker and Thomas Hayden Church.
Molly’s many film and television credits include Fun Mom Dinner; The Layover; Miles; Me, Earl and the Dying Girl; Year of the Dog; Life After Beth; Happiness; Marie Antoinette, Superstar; “Will & Grace”; “Glee”; “Getting On”; “30 Rock”; and “Seinfeld.” In 2010, Shannon added Broadway to her credits when she replaced Tony Award winner Katie Finneran in the hit mu- sical “Promises, Promises” alongside Sean Hayes and Kristin Chenoweth. There’s seemingly nothing Molly Shannon can’t do.
