Academy Award®-nominated producer, Amy Hobby will present scenes from two new documentaries about influential female musicians.

UNTITLED ANI DIFRANCO FILM: An intimate look at the life, past and present, of folk musician and feminist icon, Ani Difranco, who at the age of 19 formed Righteous Babe Records the first “woman run- non-corporate- queer happy” label. For the last 30+ years Ani has stayed true to herself, as a musician and an activist, no matter what the cost.

DORY PREVIN: ON MY WAY TO WHERE: Dory Previn soared to songwriting success in Hollywood’s MGM studio system with partner and husband Andre Previn. After he left her (for a young Mia Farrow) she was institutionalized for schizophrenia, where she began writing her own songs for the albums that would see her turn the 1970s LA folk rock scene on its head. Dory Previn’s songs are still super contemporary today, dealing honestly, sometimes painfully, and often hilariously with the lived experience of mental illness, women’s rights, sexuality, and explorations of non-binary gender roles.
