JURIED SHORTS AWARDS

The Provincetown International Film Festival offers 5 juried shorts awards: Best Narrative Short Film, Best Documentary Short Film, Best Animated Short Film, Best Queer Short Film, and Best New England Short Film.
Doing the honors in 2022 is a skilled group of film professionals: Angela Tucker is an Emmy Award-winning documentary and fiction filmmaker whose projects feature underrepresented people in unconventional ways. Ayah Bazian is a Palestinian filmmaker and programmer based in Dubai. She currently works as a senior programmer at Argo, a new short film streaming platform. Howard Karren is an arts and film writer, curates the Film Art Series at Waters Edge Cinema, and was an editor at Premiere and the Provincetown Banner.
Past award recipients include: HEAVEN REACHES DOWN TO EARTH, directed by Tebogo Malebogo: ELEVEN WEEKS, directed by Anna Kuperberg and Julie Caskey; FIRST LOVE, directed by Florent Gouelou; MELTDOWN IN DIXIE, directed by Emily Harrold; SENIOR PROM, directed by Luisa Conlon; and NUDE TRIUMPHANT, directed Leo Crane.
