What is Virtual Cinema?
While Waters Edge Cinema is temporarily closed to help ensure the health and safety of our community, we are offering a curated slate of new release films that will be available for you to watch in the comfort of your home. These films are not available on any other streaming platform.
How does it work?
Access our virtual cinema offerings on our cinema page. Choose the film you would like to watch. You’ll be taken to the distributor’s website to purchase and watch the film. A portion of your ticket price will support Waters Edge Cinema in the same manner it does when you buy a ticket at our box office.
I purchased the film. Now how do I watch it?
Once you have completed your purchase, look for your email receipt. The email will have complete directions for watching your film. Please check your spam folder if you do not see the email. All films are available to watch via your web browser, and some may also be available on apps for streaming devices.
I followed the directions, but I am still having problems playing the film. What should I do?
Try using a different browser. Some sites do not work with Safari. If you are using Safari as your web browser, try switching to Chrome or Firefox. If you are still having issues, please email email@example.com, explain your problem and we will respond to your email asap.
What is a viewing window?
The viewing window (sometimes called term of rental) is the amount of time the film is available for you to watch. These are typically 2-5 days and vary based on the individual film.
Does Waters Edge Cinema determine the ticket price?
No. The film distributors determine the ticket price for each film.
Can I use a gift card or pass for a virtual cinema title?
Unfortunately, gift cards and passes are not valid for virtual cinema titles due to our arrangement with the film distributors. You’ll be able to use them when we reopen—thank you for your understanding and support!
I am a member of the Provincetown Film Society. Is there a member price?
Unfortunately, due to our agreements with distributors, we aren’t able to offer member pricing for the virtual cinema films at this time.
