FILM ART SERIES: YI-YI (2000)

Sunday November 10
Reception @ 1pm, Screening @ 2pm

Taiwanese filmmaker Edward Yang died at age 59 of colon cancer in 2007, having created two film masterpieces during his all-too-brief career — both little-seen in the U.S. — including this beautifully wrought, epic humanist portrait of a family’s many foibles and dramas, seen through the eyes of its eight-year-old son. Winner of the Palme d’Or at Cannes and the National Society of Film Critics Best Film award. (In Chinese with English subtitles) All tickets to the Kickoff Celebration screening & reception are $40. Series passes, which include the Kickoff, are available at provincetownfilm.org and at the box office. PAAM and PFS member discounts offered!
