‘Pink House’ director gives shout-out to Provincetown film fest

Audiences at last year’s Provincetown International Film Festival got a first look at director Courtney Balaker’s fact-based drama “Little Pink House” and they liked it, rewarding the film with the HBO Audience Award for best feature film.

Friday, Boston gets its chance to see the film based on Jeff Benedict’s 2009 book of the same title, about Susette Kelo, played by Catherine Keener , and her battle to save her residence, and other modest homes in the New London, Conn., neighborhood of Fort Trumbull, from being seized under eminent domain and razed to make way for corporate development.

Kelo will attend the 7:20 p.m. screening at Kendall Square Cinema and take part in a Q&A afterward. Balaker, the director, credits PIFF with helping to put “Little Pink House” on audiences’ radar before its national release. READ MORE AT BOSTON GLOBE.
